Address Profile Adbrite operates an online advertising network where buyers can purchase advertising from a network of websites including text links, banners and interstitial ads. Adbrite currently has more than 31,000 sites with over 750 million page views per day. Ads can be targeted by keyword, site and geography. The company shares revenue with publishers and generally keeps 30% as commission. Data from research firm Comscore Media Metrix ranks Adbrite 17th for advertising networks on the Internet based on page views and reach. History AdBrite was started by Philip Kaplan and Gidon Wise in 2002. Kaplan is a founder of the site F'd Company, which chronicled Internet companies that laid off workers or shut down. They were looking for an easy way to sell advertising on their websites and blogs, and decided to place a small "Your Ad Here" link on each site to connect advertisers to an order form. AdBrite's simplicity spread through word-of-mouth, and within the first two years, more than 1,000 sites were using AdBrite to sell ads. The duo officially incorporated the company
in 2004. Adbrite has received $4 million in funding from Sequoia
Capital in 2005. © Copyright SVDaily.com |
