Andreessen Horowitz has quickly become one of Silicon Valley's top venture capital firms since it was founded in June 2009 by well-known Valley entrepreneurs Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz.
Andreessen was the developer of the original Netscape browser in 1994 which helped kick off the Internet boom.
Horowitz is a long time business partner with Andreessen and was CEO of the company Opsware that was bought by HP in 2007 for $1.6 billion.
The firm has over $2.7 billion under management across three funds which invests in technology companies. Among its 90 investments are Airbnb, Apptio, Box, Fab, Facebook, Foursquare, Groupon, Jawbone, Lytro, Pinterest, SilverTail Systems, Twitter and Zynga.Since 2004, Andreessen and Horowitz have acted as angel investors for dozens of companies such as Aliph (Jawbone), ExtraHop, LinkedIn and Twitter. Andreessen's fame in the tech world has helped him get access to the best investment deals at technology startups.
